This past week in church this sunday something caught my ears. The unison prayer for forgiveness. It went like this:
Holy god, you have called us to live in faith and freedom, but so often we live with tightness in our chest. You have called us to move in a new direction, but so often we cling to the path we know. You have called us to reach outward in love, but so often we draw inward for protection. You have called us to live with abandon, in trust, but so often we live carefully, in fear. God, forgive us. Amen.
The sermon as you can probably guess was about going outside our comfort zones. qwqw
The part in the prayer that I can relate to the most is: You have called us to move in a new direction, but so often we cling to the path we know. I see it all the time and I know that I do it too. I have a routine that I follow at school and at church even. At school I hang out with my friends and sit with them at the same table every day at lunch. In classes when we can pick our seats I always sit by my friends. At church we always sit in the same spot and after go talk to the same people then go to church school. But I don't just do it there, when my parents ask me to run into the store I always ask my sister to go with me and she always does. When ever I have to talk to a group of people even my peers I alway talk a lot quieter then when I am talking to my friends. I am also always very nervous when I am talking to people and seem to move around. So my goal for all of you this week is to go outside of your comfort zone even if you shake, sweat, think you look weird or think your hair is messed up, push threw it don't give up say I CAN DO IT!
